I totally agree with Gwen on contemporary mainstream songs being full of sex 'zest'. It seems like music nowadays is being so sexed up.

Maria Carey's short skirt music videos. Rihanna's sleazy lyrics. Flo Rida's Low, and of course, Madonna's Hard Candy. Oh for goodness' sake, someone please get that disgusting old hag out of the way.

All these are the videos that are proliferating on MTV. From what I see, MTV is just merely selling sex.

What ever happened to the MTV era that I last remembered? Like the time they actually showed songs by good bands/artises like Rage against the Machine, Disturbed and even Eminem who make such good rap songs that don't involve women at all?

Of course, all this sexed up mainstream music benefits everyone. Simply because sex sells and everyone's buying it.

We guys get to see more of sexy girls...and more girls are constantly trying to be sexier and hotter.

Now, who would actually complain?

Well,it's the people who fucking hate the mainstream.

Oh by the way, to emphasize my point, here's a song by Rage against the Machine. It's up to you guys to decipher its meaning.

This video has over 2 million views on youtube.

Now ask yourself this: what's our world coming to?

I've just managed to read up more on my History syllabus on Nationalism and the Challenges faced by the newly independent nations.

I realised that a country's military is powerful than anything else. Without help from the military, which garners in sheer 'actions' to put a country's stability into place-if only they do it right.

Violence and Force do work, and that's why there're so much advocates of protests and fighting going around this world all because they believe they have the determination and the strength to crush whatever and whoever their opponents are.

We're actually not much different from whoever we're fighting: we only want the best for ourselves, and if violence can get it for us, we'd adopt it as an attribute of pragmatism.

Now I finally know why we Singaporeans are so happy-go-lucky. We've been brought up and ushered into this comfortable 'nanny' state environment that inevitably diminishes our ability to be creative or even energetic. We tend to take things as it is, as we're already so pampered by the ever caring hand that feeds us- the government.

I'm not blaming this government for today's lethargic youth- there is no doubt that Singapore has one of the best standards of living in the world, but if you look close enough, you can actually notice that there isn't much in the hearts of Singaporeans. We're mostly apathetic, nonchalant and arrogant.

We no longer want to speak up to champion for whatever we want, as seen in most of today's education system that have most of their apathetic students becoming mute when it comes to debates and serious dicussions. It is either that today's youths are afraid of speaking up, or they simply do not have the required knowledge to participate, as I reckon that the reason would be the latter.

Singaporeans tend to take things as they are, and although they are famous for complaining, I'd like to pass it off as mere lamenting. There is not much done to rectify whatever the problem is; this I am sure of today's youths.

At the academic level, we can see this of the minute number of foreign students working harder than most of our local students.

I am not an exception. But I have realised this.

Have You?

Now where is that drive and the energy in the hearts of these young people?

We no longer desire for passion of perfectionism, but rather, our desires are channelled more to money and to 'temporary' amusement. I must say that laughter and joy is certainly enticing, and the world seems to be better off today with less of such 'impermanent' fun as it leads all of today's youths into a dark tunnel of apathy which in the long run-create problems for our world as seen in the case of juveniles turning to a life which promises such 'fun'.

In a nutshell, this is a common phrase amongst youth today: Aiya just don't care lah. This phrase shows alot about us: our juvenile and apathetic attitudes.

Yes, we can smile and laugh, but what impeccable qualities do we actually exhibit that we can be so proud about?

Laughin and smiling without any good achievements just shows that we're all idiots.

I don't think we have any at all, cause many of us have failed to build concrete mindsets throughout our entire lives. At the end of the day, it is often that we complain and regret about the silly things we do and the youth we wasted away when we get older.

Do we really need painful, life and death-situations to make us, or even wake us to know that the world isn't such an easy place to live in?

What we don't see, doesn't mean that it's not there. There is no paranoia about this. It already is so obvious; just that apathetic, indifferent youths today fail to see it, or rather, they choose to ignore it.

Time to Wake the Fuck up.

I'm not being a pessimist here, I'm just here to invigorate all you readers as I feel this of our society. There is no use defying the fact that life's gonna get tougher as you get older, as you'd only be in self-denial.

You want to see a change? Then Be the Damn Change.

No one's gonna save you when you drown; you'd have to bear in mind that everyone would be drowing with you. There's a limit to which your cronies can help you.

Somethings in life you'd just have to go through all alone in the depths of your mind.

Help would only come to those who want to save themselves; never to those who depend solely on others.

Remember that we all craft the lives that we want, so don't expect anyone to save you from the implosion of your own life, cause you're the one that built it so no one else can.

Now Go on, Save Yourself.

The times have changed. I have changed too.

From a headstrong, literally tactless, energetic youth, to a subtle, sensible, considerate and slothful 18 year old. That's pretty much a change huh?

I can't see myself changing in the process...but I can feel myself changing.

Both the good and bad.

I miss the old energetic side of me.

I realise that I've lost most of my abilities to convey whatever I feel like saying into both speech and words.

I can no longer write with eloquent language, and my verbal skills are lacking.

I really need to get a hold of myself sometimes, and be confident once again. Whatever it might be, the voice just tells me to stay strong and not lose myself on anything.

Think. Think. Think.

There's no excuse for apathy; it merely blinds you from the harsh truths that the world harbingers.

Above all, know your role in life. Always Know what You're doing.

Seems like I need to re-format and upgrade my system.

My beloved Gwenie gave me something really nice and cool for our nearing one year anniversary since the very day we got together: a scent!

I haven't recieved such a good gift all my life?

So thanks dear, I really appreciate it, and the letter was what touched me? Thanks thanks baby ;) [this is the first smiley on my blog by the way.]

Just pure sweetness. I'm so blessed to be in this love.

She showed me videos of kitties on youtube and yes I do like kitties. But my migraine started when I focused on the kitties on the computer screen, and it's lasting even up till now.

But nonetheless, I'm still happy to be with her to watch cutesy kitty videos.

Back on the track; we constantly remind and encourage each other to work hard to pursuit our dreams. We're gonna go at it together. We'd walk through it together...and we'd live it off together.

Sure, we can do this individually, but with the power of love, it might just be a hell lot easier.

Don't you agree?

The past week hasn't been well., but I guess we (Gwen and I) managed to keep everything from breaking apart.

Now everything's fine.

Spent the day in school studying with her and after that went over to IKEA tampines to have a good and well deserved dinner.

I really like the atmosphere there, as I guess both of us like looking out for furniture?

I've been really slack in my revision for my exams next week. I haven't covered much yet.

There's just simply a lack of inspiration from my music? I'm into Rage Against The Machine(RATM) now and most of their old songs like 'Testify".

I just love their revolution-militant-angsty sounding songs.

But it ain't enough. I need more drive, more inspiration. I need more music.

I haven't been training much too, I guess my body is now in a very bad shape.

Stress can really change a person.

There's only one way out of this bombtrack: I'd keep on going as fast as I can to reach the other end as there's really no turning back now.
